Steel Town?: Synthesis
Creating this project was very fun for me but at the same time very stressful because I only had 11 days to get it done. One thing that helped to keep me pushing was my deep interest in the topic and the want to learn more.

Art
For the art portion of my project I wanted to create something that was very useful and functional. One thing that I need in my room is a hat rack so I decided to go from there. What I ended up doing was pulling together some old parts such as washers and horseshoes to build a moose shaped hat rack. Although your unable to really see it in the pictures I finished it off with a rough patina paint job. The thinking skill was very straight forward for this because I was using multiple things to create something new.

English
For the english portion of this project I dove into something that I never did before. I analyzed three poems that had to do with my project. I then took this a step farther by cutting the three poems that I read up and used the words from each and some of my own words to create a new poem. So just like art using the thinking skill was very straight forward.

History
For the history portion I wrote an essay talking about how steel no longer defines Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Researching this topic and writing the paper was very enjoyable for many reasons. Some of them being Pittsburgh is close my home town and the topic involving some political debates. Using synthesis was kind of hard for me. But, I did it by taking about multiple things such as the Steelers and how Pittsburgh produced the most steel in the world at one point and then I related it back to why it no longer produces a lot of steel.
